McHenry Hohnen 2020 Hazels Syrah

Syrah | Roussane

Complex and highly fragrant, this Syrah shows dark cherries, black pepper and cinnamon, entwined with a savoury note of smoked meats and liquorice. The palate is full bodied with inky blackberries and a velvety mocha note, followed by roasted spice and a frame of firm but supple tannins. A wine unlike any other in the region and a true reflection of the ‘Syrah’ style.

Palate: Full bodied with inky blackberries and a velvety mocha note, followed by roasted spice and a frame of firm but supple tannins.

"Deep and vivid purple-red colour; inky blackberry and background spice aromas, the palate full-bodied and solid, with abundant tannins which are deliciously supple and fine, the entire wine nicely harmonious. Very appealing and has the structure age long and well. The fruit is concentrated and does most of the talking."
